How to Care for Your Extensions

  • Do not wash your hair for at least 48 hours after initial installation, your scalp can be a bit tender.

  • Try not to wear your hair up during the first week, this can cause your scalp to be tender too.

  • Wash with Unite's Sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, only wash two to three times a week.

  • Use Davine's Oi oil the mid to ends of the hair at least once a day. Avoid the root area of hair.

  • Sleep in a low braid or pony tail.

  • Sleep on a silk or satin pillow case.

  • Use heat protection on your hair and extensions, this will help fight against heat damage.

  • Brush twice a day starting at the ends or your hair moving upward, making sure you get at the root so it doesn't cause matting or dreading.

  • When swimming, coat your hair in conditioner or leave in conditioner and wear in a braid or loose, high bun.

  • Be aware, salt water and chlorine can strip hair of color and dry out extensions.

  • Do not get sunscreen on your extensions. This can cause discoloration and will not come out.

  • Blow dry the top of the extensions so it does not hold any moisture.

  • Hard water can strip natural and extension hair of color and nutrients. If possible use soft water.

  • Maintenance should be every 6 to 8 weeks, if any longer it can cause stress to the hair which can cause breakage.
